Lately Jack Thompson had been after the game Manhunt 2. Manhunt 2 is another PlayStation game that was produced by RockStar Vancouver. Mr. Thompson tried to put a halt on the releasing of Manhunt 2, but he failed and Manhunt 2 was ruled as a good game and went on to have a successful worldwide release.
When you look at the history of all the game consoles, You’ll see that many of the top titles are violent games. Games such as:
Mortal Kombat
F.E.A.R
Gears of War
Halo
Battlefield 2
Unreal Tournament
Counter Strike
Tekken
God of War
Tomb Raider
Max Payne
DOOM
Soldier of Fortune
Resident Evil
Metal gear Solid
Burnout
Grand Theft Auto
Splinter Cell
Shadow of the Colossus
Bully
Metroid Prime
Medal of Honor
Hitman
Narc
Manhunt
State of Emergency
Gun
Black
and many more
People have been playing violent games for many years and the gaming industry has made billions of dollars off of these games. I simply don’t see the violence being taken out of the games. It could be toned down on certain parts but it’ll never be taken away from the games.
Even companies like Nintendo that are aimed towards younger kids. They still manage to make some of the most violent games. That is because people love violent games and they don’t mind spending money to play them. There is plenty of money to be made in violent video games and that is enough reason for the developers to stick to them.
Game developers will always push the limits as much as they can in order to get the best gaming experience. It has always been like that and it’ll continue to stay that way for the years to come.
The only advice that I can give is for gamers to play their games on their video game machines and not let it affect them in reality. It could destroy lives if it drives you into doing something horribly wrong.
