Ever since late August, there have been many top notch games released in the gaming market. Bioshock which is a front runner for the game of the year award, started off the major game launch in 2007. Bioshock was released on August 26th and it received outstanding reviews from hundreds of critics. I have played a few levels of Bioshock and I totally agree with the reviews.
The long anticipated Halo 3 was released last week and it is being reported that it had the biggest launch in US history by cashing in 170 million dollars on its opening day. Halo 3 is another top contender for the game of the year award and it will be very interesting to see which game gets the award. I managed to play Halo 3 for about an hour and I was very impressed with the sharp graphics. The game play wasn’t too different from other first person shooters like Battlefield 2, Unreal Tournament or even Bioshock. Overall I believe that the game delivers and it lived up to all the hype that was surrounding this title.
As you might know from my previous blog, NHL 08 is out and I am deeply in love with this game. Other sport titles have also been released, titles such as FIFA 08, NBA Live 08, Tiger Woods PGA 08, Madden NFL 08, NHL 2k8, NBA 2k8 and more.
Sadly, Grand Theft Auto IV was delayed by six months and that means that we're going to have to wait just a little longer to try the first GTA title on the next generation systems.
This week Half Life 2, Episode 2: The Orange box is set to release and it will be another title that competes for the game of the year award. HL2E2:TOB is a bit different from other games. This game comes out with 2 other games and it also includes HL2 and HL2 Episode 1 and 2. It is a bit confusing if you haven’t follown the series throughout the years. You pretty much get 5 games for the price of one. Not just 5 average games, you'll get 5 outstanding games for only 60 dollars.
There are still many titles to be released during the next couple of months. Titles such as: Assassins Creed, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008, Ratchet & Clank, Drakes Fortune, Haze, Need for Speed and many more.
This is a great time of the year for all the gamers and those who enjoy playing different type of games.
