NHL 08

Once again, it is that time of the year. The NHL season is upon us and there are millions of hockey fans waiting for the puck to drop. The dull days are past us and it is time to lay back and watch some hard hitting action.

The arrival of the NHL season means that the annually long awaited Hockey game, NHL 08 will be released soon. NHL 08 is produced and published by Electronic Arts. Gamers from all over the world can either start their own dynasty league or join thousands of other players online.

This year, the game allows you to take your mad shootout skills online and show off what you’re capable of against others. You can also have one on one match’s and become one of the top contenders online. My personal favorite is the online team play mode. You get to pair up with a couple of random players and go head to head against three other players in some intense online battle.

The EA servers are programmed to log every single action that happens during the game. The game registers your win and loss record and it awards you with skill points. Higher skill points gives you access to certain benefits such as achievement points and access to more professional online lobbies.

Overall, NHL 08 is a huge improvement over NHL 07. They improved the skating engine and it is far more realistic to make passes and take shots. The faces look unbelievable identically to the real player faces and that makes the game feel a lot more realistic that ever before.

If you’re a hockey fan, I highly recommend this game either on Xbox 360 or PS3. Stay away from the PC and Ps2 version and don’t even think about purchasing NHL 2k8. NHL 2k8 and 08 are different games. NHL 08 is the right way to go.

Go Canucks Go
